PULP TILES

is a regenerative architectural tile series that transforms locally discarded paper into a poetic surface language of permanence, rhythm, and return.

In a city where paper moves endlessly through our lives— carrying contracts, commerce, communication, and daily consumption, waste paper is not neutral—it is culture in circulation.

This project redirects that flow. Through material design, the paper that once moved through our hands as information —printed matter, packaging, confidential files, cartons, and fragments of written life—into architectural tiles, where what once conveyed information is reformed as structure, and the transient gains permanence.

• Bone
• Pulse
• Eddies

The trilogy unfolds as three states of transformation:
Bone anchors the material as structure;
Pulse captures suspended movement;
Eddies embodies circular return.

Rather than concealing origin, the tiles reveal it. Fibers remain visible; textures hold depth; mineral tones suggest geology, ink flow, and tidal rhythm. Installed across walls, they shift interior space from passive surface to narrative terrain.

Bone • Pulse • Eddies

proposes that sustainability is not merely the reduction of impact, but the restoration of meaning. Waste is not simply diverted—it is re-authored. Surface is not applied—it is composed from the residue of living.

What once passed through our hands now stands before us, re-formed with dignity.

Sustainability

Bone • Pulse • Eddies operates within a unique locally integrated circular production model in Hong Kong—where environmental regeneration, inclusive employment, and measurable ESG accountability converge across the production.

Inclusive Production System

Production partners with vocational rehabilitation centers and sheltered workshops. We train and employ individuals with mild mental and physical disabilities within customised, accessibility-designed production facilities. Sustainability is practiced through dignified participation, embedding social value directly into material transformation.

Material Circularity

Material Circularity

  • Produced entirely from locally collected waste paper spanning diverse daily-life streams.

  • Formulated with plant-based strengthening extracts that enhance structural integrity and durability beyond ordinary paper properties.

  • Plastic-free and mono-material, enabling full repulpability at end-of-life.

  • Compatible with varied finishing systems, supporting both temporary installations and long-term architectural applications.

  •

The material exceeds paper—yet returns to paper—completing a true closed-loop circulars system.
